Have You Tried Windows Dark Mode?

Depending on your eyesight, some people prefer a different type of contrast when looking at their computer screen, especially in low-light conditions like cloudy days, early mornings, or late evenings. Many people say Dark Mode reduces eye strain regardless of light conditions in the room. Here’s how to try Dark Mode on your computer (and how to change it back to Light Mode if you don’t like it).

  • Press the Windows key + I (That’s the letter I. Or, click the start button on your computer and then the gear icon to enter Windows Settings.)
  • Click Personalization
  • On the left, click Colors
  • Under Choose your color, select Custom
  • Change Default Windows mode to Dark
  • Change the Default app mode to Dark

You can adjust these settings and the ones below to anything you like. Typically Transparency effects are enabled but some people can see more easily without them.
