Meet the Team: Matt Miller

It’s the Meeting of the Matts! In this episode, Pegasus Technologies CEO Matthew Tucker interviews our systems administrator, Matt Miller.

Matt Tucker: Hello, everyone, and welcome to another episode of Meet the Employee with the CEO. Today we have Matt with us. How you doing today, Matt?

Matt Miller: Doing good; how are you doing?

Matt Tucker: Good, good. I’ll have to say, being a Matt, it’s nice to have a Matt. In fact, you are one of three now, so it does get interesting when somebody asks, “Matt did it.” So, let’s get started. Why don’t you take a minute to tell us a little bit about yourself?

Matt Miller: As you’ve already heard, my name is Matt. In my spare time, I like to go to the gym, play video games, hang out with friends. I’ve been in it for a couple of years now, on and off. Had a bit of a hiatus in my career, but I’m back and better than ever. Loving everything at Pegasus so far—great co-workers, it’s almost like a family, a lot of support. That’s about it.

Matt Tucker: Good, good. Yeah, well, you’ve been a great addition. So, what we’re coming up, just past six months now, coming up on six months.

Matt Miller: Yeah, I think I just finished my third or fourth, but my sense of time is so bad.

Matt Tucker: Yeah, no problem at all. So, you mentioned your co-workers and how great they are. Well, you may feel differently after you hear the questions that they want me to ask you. So, as it always is, I have a set of 10 questions that have been submitted by your peers. They’re to get a chuckle, they’re to get to know you, and sometimes they’re borderline strange. So, let’s just go ahead and jump right in if you’re ready.

Matt Miller (Interviewee): I’m ready.

Matt Tucker: Alright. First question: If you could sit down for lunch with any human from history, who would it be, and what would you ask them?

Matt Miller: Wow, um, that’s a tough one. I guess maybe Mike Tyson, and I’d ask him why he bit Evander’s ear off. What was going through his mind at that time? It’s been interesting. I’m sure he’s been asked that a few times, so I’d like to know the answer as well. Probably, yeah, a fun person.

Matt Tucker: Right, right. Good, good. Next one: What’s your favorite memory from childhood but before high school?

Matt Miller: These are hard-hitting. Probably just sledding down the hill in the backyard. Nothing crazy, but it’s just one of the things that always stuck with me. Never did it as an adult, really, but, oh, you got to go back.

Matt Tucker: Well, when you have kids, get pulled right back into that, and it’s a little bit more terrifying the older you get, just saying. What do you fear more, a zombie apocalypse or artificial intelligence becoming self-aware?

Matt Miller: Probably artificial intelligence because at least the zombies are kind of dumb usually. Yeah, that depends on the movie. I’ve seen some scary zombies.

Matt Tucker: Yeah, all right. Good, good. So, I know firsthand how popular the name Matt is. If you could change your name or had to change your name, what would it be?

Matt Miller: Man, I almost said Luke, but I don’t want to give him satisfaction. Probably go with Chris. Chris, yeah.

Matt Tucker: Yep, all right. Well, for everybody listening, Luke is actually a counterpart that sits right next to him here at the office. So, that was the Luke comment. What are your hobbies?

Matt Miller: Basically going to the gym, running, playing video games, watching TV, going out for drinks occasionally with friends, and just hanging out with them in general. Stuff like that.

Matt Tucker: Good. All right. What’s the number one item on your bucket list?

Matt Miller: At the moment, going anywhere in Europe or Asia. Never been.

Matt Tucker: Do you think humans will ever live forever?

Matt Miller: No, only because I’m sure at some point, we’re going to destroy ourselves through some means of greed or stupidity. But I think we’re going to get to the point where failing parts are replaced, almost like we’re going to become cyborgs. But it’s going to be in reality. I think we’ll live a long time, but it’s got to end eventually, like everything.

Matt Tucker: The last thing I read was our children’s or my children’s children could surpass the 200-year mark, which is crazy.

Matt Miller: Yeah, it is. Well, we build it for them; we’ll just take that.

Matt Tucker: Okay, now they get weird. If you were a mad scientist, what experiment would you run?

Matt Miller: Probably that. Honestly, if I feel like that’s kind of a big trope, is just trying to live forever. I’d probably see what I could do to make that happen. Frankenstein, yep.

Matt Tucker: Yep, yep. All right. What is the funniest Halloween costume you’ve ever been?

Matt Miller: Nothing too funny. I was, the other year, I was Kronk from The Emperor’s New Groove. That’s probably as wild as I’ve gotten with it. Usually, they’re pretty standard, stuff you can find at Spirit Halloween or something.

Matt Tucker: Yeah, yeah. Good, all right. Last one. Who is your all-time celebrity crush?

Matt Miller: Gonna have to go with Natalie Dormer, I think.

Matt Tucker: All right, good. What has she been in, just to help the audience?

Matt Miller: She was in Game of Thrones. She was Margaery in that.

Matt Tucker: Ah, right, right, right. Good, great show. All right, Matt, that was it. Really appreciate you being a good sport. They actually let you off a little easy.

Matt Miller: Yeah, it wasn’t too strange. I think you have some friends back there. Congratulations on that.

Matt Tucker: Thanks, sir. Thanks for being part of Pegasus. Thanks for the great words about Pegasus. Have a great day.

Matt Miller: Thank you, you too. Take care.
