Highlighting Information Technology Services as a Career Path for AGHS Students

Pegasus Technologies will speak to Avon Grove High School (AGHS) students about career opportunities in the Information Technology field as part of the Career Pathways Highlight Initiative on Thursday, March 16.

This is the second year that Pegasus has shared their insights with AGHS students as part of this program.

AGHS Career Pathways Highlight Events bring in regional businesses to share stories and ideas to help students explore different career opportunities and career goals. This month, AGHS is highlighting the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) pathway.

Careers in Information Technology Services are growing rapidly. Employment in the industry is projected to grow 12% from 2014 thru 2024. This makes the Information Technology field an exciting and competitive career opportunity.

Erik Gudmundson, Pegasus VP of Business Development, has presented at Avon Grove for the past few years. For Erik, this event is a chance to prepare students for all of the different options available to them after high school.

“AGHS takes a pragmatic approach to preparing students for post-secondary life. It does a good job of presenting different pathways to success for students exploring a career they will enjoy as part of a sustainable lifestyle, whether that path is a trade school, an associate’s degree, a bachelor’s degree, or something else.”

Managed IT Services is a career that motivated young adults can enter through a variety of pathways. Whether students choose to explore the field through a trade school or an internship, or by obtaining an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree, there are many ways to explore the field and grow through experience and education.

We look forward to shedding light on the IT Services industry for interested AGHS students! If you have any questions for Erik before the event, Contact Us.
