Brian
: “Welcome to the best day of the week! Let’s hope it improves from here.”

Matthew: “Well, that’s gonna be up to you.”

Brian: “It’s definitely gonna improve for me. Not so sure about you, looking at some of these questions.”

Matthew: “Brian, you’ve been with us for three months, heavily involved in the project side of the business. Why don’t you take a minute to tell us a little about yourself?”

Brian: “Okay, I’ve had lots of experience in IT. I started out working for a software company called Bentley Systems, where I was involved in QA testing for their 3D rendering package. That led to a job with an architectural firm, where I did 3D renderings. Coming from an IT background, I became the de facto IT guy, so all the architects could focus on their work while I took care of the network. I was there for about 10 years, building up their network from humble beginnings to something they could be proud of. This was back in the Microsoft Small Business Server days.”

Matthew: “That sounds cool, especially moving into more of a cloud-based environment over time.”

Brian: “Yeah, exactly. After the banking collapse, I shifted to IT consulting, mainly in the biotech world, which was really growing in this area. Then I ended up here at Pegasus Technologies.”

Matthew: “Excellent. We’re super happy to have you and look forward to a great relationship, where we challenge each other and grow together. So, let’s dive into the questions.”

Matthew: “Alright, which fictional character do you think would make a great employee here at Pegasus Technologies?”

Brian: “I think it would have to be a superhero, someone with foresight and control over everything. Maybe Homelander… well, without the attitude and baggage. Or an Avenger, like… the red guy? Vision! Yeah, someone like that could handle all the issues that pop up.”

Matthew: “I think we’re all superheroes here in our own way, and hopefully, our clients see that too.”

Matthew: “What’s your favorite band and why?”

Brian: “I grew up in the ’80s, and a band that really influenced me was Led Zeppelin; I could listen to their albums on repeat. I also really liked U2 when they first came out—they had some great songs and an amazing story, which got me into that ’80s sound. I’d have to say U2; they’ve been around forever, and they keep challenging the way we listen to music.”

Matthew: “Definitely. They were revolutionary and continue to push boundaries.”

Matthew: “What’s the most unusual job you’ve ever had before this one?”

Brian: “Right out of high school, I worked in a factory near Harrisburg that produced the base for soft-serve ice cream. I was filling bags with this milky substance while standing in shin-deep milk. It was an assembly-line job, and I didn’t last very long.”

Matthew: “Yeah, that sounds… unique. Moving on, what’s the most unusual talent or hobby you have that most people wouldn’t expect?”

Brian: “I was big into skateboarding growing up, and once, I managed to jump over an MG car on my skateboard. I still might be able to do a handstand on a skateboard, though I haven’t tried it in years.”

Matthew: “Well, we might have to see that at the next company dinner!”

Matthew: “What’s a food you absolutely refuse to eat, no matter how it’s prepared?”

Brian: “Scrapple. My wife loves it, but I just can’t do it, even though it’s popular around here.”

Matthew: “That’s fair! A little maple syrup, though, can change everything.”

Matthew: “What’s the most embarrassing fashion trend you used to rock?”

Brian: “Back in the ’80s, I tried the Flock of Seagulls hairstyle, or at least a half-attempt at it. And of course, there were parachute pants.”

Matthew: “Hey, everyone was doing it back then!”

Matthew: “If you could have dinner with three people, living or dead, who would they be?”

Brian: “I’d say Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein, and maybe Red Auerbach from the sports world. That would be an interesting mix.”

Matthew: “If you were a kitchen appliance, which one would you be and why?”

Brian: “Probably a blender. Throw everything in, mix it up, and see what comes out. That’s kind of how I am.”

Matthew: “I’d probably be a dishwasher—always cleaning up everyone’s mess and making it shine again!”

Matthew: “Do you have any unusual phobias or fears?”

Brian: “Spiders. I grew up in Arizona and once brought home a black widow in a mason jar, not realizing what it was. Now I avoid spiders!”

Matthew: “Noted. And finally, what is one thing your wife does that drives you crazy?”

Brian: “She’s meticulous. If I leave a glass on the counter, it’s in the dishwasher before I have a chance to refill it.”

Matthew: “Well, that doesn’t sound too bad. We’ll leave it at that!”

Matthew: “Thanks, Brian, for being a good sport with these questions. We’re really glad to have you here at Pegasus and look forward to a long relationship with you.”
