The hottest new programming language is English

That was said over a year ago by computer scientist Andrej Karpathy and his quip may be more true now than ever. We’ve covered AI prompts and AI datacenters in past newsletters. Automation and AI continues to help people, businesses, and nonprofit organizations with limited budgets do more. Professor Karim Lakhani of Harvard Business School predicts, “AI is not going to replace humans, but humans with AI are going to replace humans without AI.”

Those are some bold statements. and we’ve been publishing lots of detail about how AI works, but let’s take a step back. How do you get started with AI? Well, now it’s easy.

Last month, Microsoft gave almost everyone with a Microsoft 365 subscription free access to Microsoft Copilot Chat. Nonprofit organizations can get Microsoft 365 Business Premium for free, and yes, Business Premium is one of the many subscriptions that now include this generative AI tool.

What’s Microsoft Copilot Chat? It’s a way you can use several premium AI services from OpenAI via a chat-like interface over the web or in Teams. It includes OpenAI premium tools like Chat GPT-4o prompts, OpenAI o1 reasoning model, DALL-E 3 image generation, and more. It can create images, analyze documents, answer questions, and create content. The better your prompts, the better Copilot Chat’s answers will be. It’s interesting to try. If you’re paying for a ChatGPT subscription today, this free benefit can replace it.

As you might expect, paid premium editions are available that offer tight integration directly inside Office apps, granular security, detailed reporting, greater usage allowances, and more. But for now, Copilot Chat is free.

This set of tools is just one aspect of AI, and it’s impressive. In seconds, powerful automation, analysis, and inspiration are all possible with AI. Want some help? Contact Pegasus to continue the conversation about AI.
