Meet the Team: From Dispatch Desk to the Hot Seat – Greg Andersson and a Surprise CEO Interview
This month’s Meet the Team interview took an unexpected—and entertaining—turn. We set out to spotlight Greg Andersson, our Central Dispatcher, but in a twist worthy of a TV moment, the spotlight shifted to Pegasus Technologies CEO Matthew Tucker, who found himself answering the team’s rapid-fire questions instead.
Meet Greg Andersson: Tech-Savvy, Sports-Loving Dispatcher
Greg joined Pegasus Technologies just three months ago, bringing a passion for technology and a knack for keeping things running smoothly on our dispatch team. A native of the Valley Forge area and a graduate of a Baltimore-based university, Greg is both a lifelong Phillies fan and an avid player of golf and softball.
When he’s not coordinating service calls or improving automation processes, Greg dives into hobbyist software development and game design—interests that make him a natural fit for our tech-driven environment.
Greg’s enthusiasm was evident right from the start of the interview. But just as he began sharing his story, the unexpected happened.
Surprise Guest: Matthew Tucker, CEO of Pegasus Technologies
In a playful twist, the interview quickly transitioned into an impromptu Q&A session with CEO Matthew Tucker, orchestrated by the team. What followed was a candid and entertaining series of questions that gave everyone a deeper look into the person behind the title.
“If you could own a business outside of IT, what would it be?”
Without hesitation, Matt answered: “A professional hockey team.” Owning a sports franchise, particularly in hockey, has long been a dream of his.
“What did you want to be when you grew up?”
Matt shared that while he didn’t have a clear childhood vision, he always knew he’d be self-employed. From selling snakes in his teens to maintaining fish tanks and now leading an IT company, that entrepreneurial spirit has never wavered.
“Have you ever used work to get out of a family event?”
With a laugh, Matt firmly denied ever using company business to dodge family time—though he admitted to missing a company event or two for work emergencies.
“What’s been your toughest decision as CEO?”
Matt revealed that his most difficult, yet defining, decision was pivoting the company’s focus from enterprise cybersecurity to managed services. It was a risky move at the time, but one that ultimately paved the way for Pegasus’s current success.
“What’s your go-to karaoke song?”
After much encouragement from the team, Matt confessed: Sweet Caroline.
Team Questions from Chris, Cole, and Kaia
-
Chris asked about the toughest leadership challenge Matt has faced. His answer highlighted the transition from a hands-on role to trusting a strong team to lead in his place—a change he described as a “high point” in the company’s journey.
-
Cole asked about personal milestones and surprising facts. Matt proudly pointed to the current moment as the highlight of his ownership journey and surprised the team by revealing he once kept over 250 snakes in his parents’ basement.
-
Kaia explored Matt’s passion for cooking. If he could master any new skill, it would be becoming one of the greatest chefs of all time. His favorite creation? Sourdough pizza with imaginative toppings like a deconstructed lasagna—made with a five-year-old starter he still maintains.
Wrapping Up with Laughter and Appreciation
As the interview came to a close, the team thanked Matt for being a good sport—and Greg for graciously giving up his spotlight. Matt, ever the team player, expressed genuine appreciation for the camaraderie, professionalism, and commitment of everyone at Pegasus.
